Well here’s my story, timeline, and some valuable lessons that I’ve learned along the way that should save you from making the same mistakes I did…

Diddy was an intern at Uptown Records where he did grunt work like washing cars & fetching coffee.
Simon Cowell started out as a mailroom clerk for EMI Music Publishing where his father worked.
Michael Dell washed dishes at a Chinese restaurant for $2.30 per hour.
Tom Hanks once worked as a hotel bellman and carried bags for a number of celebs.
Ashton Kutcher swept cereal dust at a General Mills factory to help with his living expenses and sold his blood for extra cash.
I got my start as an Affiliate marketer back in April 2016 seriously. But when I started I was like every other beginner. I had no confidence, zero experience and had no clue to what I was doing; which resulted to a lot of wasted time and money.
I was trying building my business using outdated ways (ak.a stage zero) like almost everyone doing here in Tanzania. The first year was a miserable failure. I’d go to hotel meetings, post fliers on phone polls, cold call lead lists, and drop “sizzle cards” in mall parking lots. Anything and everything that might work. In doing so…
I literally lost millions in phone calls, the so-called marketing books, expensive courses and other marketing expenses. Don’t get me wrong, I did make some money here and there and eventually got broke. I was losing more money than I was making. It really sucked.
I felt like a dog who was trying to chase its own tail.
If you have been there, you know what I mean… You know you’re busy doing a lot of work but somehow you don’t manage to move anywhere.
I had faced rejection from almost everybody I encountered. Strangers, family members, and even lose my girl friend. No one wanted to buy what I was selling even though they were cool products which had a huge demand in the market place. And I never understood why I could not sell. My mentor tried harder and harder showing me where exactly I was going wrong. He inspired and encouraged me not quit. He believed on me.
However, I knew there was a light at the end of the tunnel, so I started doing whatever it take to arrive to that light.
One day while I was sitting alone at night on my bed, frustrated from the failure and pain I was going through, I started asking myself questions that literally shifted my thought of how I was about to build my business.
These questions were:
- Was there an easier, faster and friction less way to build my business with less rejection and more sales?
- Was there a way in which prospects would be chasing me, begging to pay me money to buy what I was selling instead of me chasing them trying so hard to convince and manipulate them to buy?
- If the answers to the above 2 question is yes, then where would I get access to the information and immediately apply to my business?
Few days after asking those questions, I realized that I was always looking for success to come from something outside myself. I thought success would be the result of finding the right opportunity, or the right product, or the right mentor, or the latest marketing system gimmick…
And as a result, I failed over and over again…
Finally… I met a mentor who told me what I really needed to hear…
He said, “Lusabara, if you want to make $5,000/Mo as an entrepreneur, you have to become someone who is capable of that result. Simply put, if you want your results to change, you need to change.”
And he was right.
So at this point, I’d had enough. I realized that I needed to do something different, so I took his words to heart, and decided that I needed transform myself into a real business owner and learn the skills of the trade.
Fortunately the idea got into my head that I could start using online methodologies to re-build my business. I didn’t really believe on what that meant at the time because I didn’t go to college for computer science, web design, or marketing. In fact, I didn’t go to college at all.
But as you might have guessed, searching for “how to make money online” led me to an endless string of scams. Being rich sounded fantastic, but they never really explained how to make money. (But I will shortly explain how I make money here!) Their “secrets” were locked behind a pay wall. I spent many late nights with my cursor poised over the “Buy Now” button on products that sounded so good, but I just didn’t trust.
In my research, I eventually found a man who told me something different. He did not promise me riches, and did not guarantee me success. This man said I needed to work, and I had to focus on creating a strong foundation to my business. Around that same time he introduced me the concept of “direct response marketing”, which is basically the ability to market and sell products directly through advertising.
It was his training videos that finally explained to me HOW I would be making money, before I paid him anything.
This man called Mike Dillard. He didn’t show me screenshots of his bank accounts or video of fast cars and yachts (and I won’t show you that junk either). Two months later, in June 2016, I decided to take a higher step and enrolled to his course for $2997. In this course, he gave me a step by step and told me to get to work. My fortune was that, he was always around to show me what I did wrong, or what I should do next.
His training and personal help from him gave me so much joy, relief and hope in such a way that my body and soul was lit up with a burning desire that the only place left that I had to move to, was forward and eventually…

I stopped trying hard to market and sell my products like everybody else and started practicing what Mike taught me. His teachings and mentorship was like catalyst for me, I started searching for more golden information from people who had achieved massive success in the marketplace and NOT people with Masters or PhDs who have no real life experience. I also became very passionate about online marketing than ever before.
What I learned (still learning) from Mike literally changed how I thought and did things. In fact I started doing things and building my business the exact opposite of what the majority “Old School” are doing. The SECRET strategies I’m learning are priceless.

SEE, the Internet is perfect because rather chasing and bugging people to join your business, you put out good quality content on the web (bait) that people want, and you begin to attract prospects to you, automatically…
And the best bit? You ONLY hear from people who are interested in what you’ve got. You very rarely hear from people who do not like your content…
Which means, rejection free marketing!
IMAGINE, putting out a video, or creating a Facebook status update, or creating a Blog Post or Facebook Group and having people flock to that piece of content…
Maybe you created a Facebook Ad, and sent people to a capture page… (automatically)! The people who are interested in what you are offering will contact you and maybe ask to join you!
So, in essence… when you put content out on the Internet, and target your perfect prospect, then watch and wait as people come to you and leave comments, ask to join your group, submit their application form, or send you a private message.
It Is Easy When You “Attract”…
Seriously, the POSTURE you have when you attract people to you, vrs chasing people is 100% different.
See, when you chase people, essentially you are begging them to join you or buy your product.
When people chase YOU… they are begging you to join you and or buy your product!
You have the POWER, and you can choose to work with that person, or not!
If you watch any of the top Attraction Marketers out there… you’ll see people raising their hands, and saying YES I want to work with you!
Plus the LEVERAGE is huge.
All you do is put out content on the Web. Maybe a Blog Post, or a video… maybe a Facebook status update or an email and watch the people flock to you!
How Can You Learn To Do It?
After building my first website, it took me just a few days to start earning some decent money, and I quit everything I was doing just short time after that. I then continued to make money like this for months now with a website about online store, but soon found that my real passion was helping modern entrepreneurs build their own business using profit-generating websites. I love doing what I do, and I want to help you learn how to do the same.

My sense, is that as our world and interactions becomes more digitized and the ‘Old School’ camp won’t be able to hold out much longer and will have to admit that the internet can and WILL play a crucial role in their businesses.

My warning to leaders “Old School” here in Tanzania and the rest is simple…
The internet can either be your best friend or your worst enemy.
Choosing to pretend the internet isn’t there, will result in massive attrition because people will get curious and against your advice, will end up on my list and learn about internet marketing from ME (or others like me)!
Choosing to incorporate internet marketing into your strategy, will make you more valuable as a leader since there will be no need for them to learn about something, you are already leveraging in your business in a well thought out and strategic way.
